Encore Fundraiser

Hopefully you have not only seen the Encore fundraiser packet that came home with your band student, but you have started selling the delicious snacks!  Orders (and money) are due on September 1st.  The proposed delivery date will be October 17th.  Thank you for supporting the Eagle Band!!!

Start the Year! Volunteer!

Hi everyone, its that time of year again. And as we start off the new 2011-2012 season, we are in need of some volunteers to help out with a clean up day and activities we have just around the corner.

We have a clean up date scheduled for Aug 13 2011 at 8 am. We will be cleaning up the concession stands and getting things ready for upcoming games and activities.

We have been asked to open the concession stand for a 5 k fundraiser5 the athletic boosters are sponsoring.It is really a great offer from them as they could have done something themselves but asked us to take charge of it at no % to them.  HOWEVER it is August 20 starting at 5:30 pm.  Volunteers need to be there by 5pm to start set up and cooking. Athletics  have no real idea of what to expect.  Most likely this will be over by 9 pm.  They have about 30 – 40 school and other groups running booths and about 100 runners lined up.  It is a fundraiser for the athletics but like I said they are giving us this opportunity to make some money from the concession stand.

So as we get ready to hit the ground running for this new year, we are in need of volunteers for the clean up day, the concession stand for the 5k run, And of course our games are starting on Aug.26 with our first home game being on Sept. 2.

Sept 17 Art in the park we may need people to run the booth.  We will need a driver for equipment.

 

For each Home game we will need 3 equipment people, 15 Home concession people, four chaperones.

For each away game we need three equipment people including One driver. Six chaperones.

Parades we need 2 equipment people including one driver four to six chaperons and two people to carry the banner.

Message from Ivy

Hello everyone,

Band camp started today and from
what I hear it is going to be an awesome year!

Students should have received and
turned in the band camp package with all kinds of information.  If you
haven’t seen this yet please get with your student.

Of vital importance is the medical
form which we MUST have on file.

Also of great importance are the T-shirt order forms, I am ordering shirts tomorrow and must have this info.
Also, band fees MUST be paid or payments arranged by Saturday at the latest or
your student will NOT be assigned a uniform.

If any student has band shoes they
would like to donate please drop them at the band room sometime between now and
Saturday morning. Times are tough and feet do grow pretty fast so we are hoping
to make our shoe investment last a bit longer!

For those that need to order shoes
we will be placing an order on Saturday but payment has to be received on
Saturday. Shoes are $25.  Checks need to be made out to Kathy Enterprises.

This Saturday we will be holding our
uniform day and we need volunteers.  Anyone who can hold a measuring tape
or a pen and paper (and a few who can hem a pant leg) are needed!!

facebook if you can volunteer all or part of the day. Starting at 8:30 am.

Next week we are planning the
fundraising and concession stand meetings (two seperate meetings) to plan out
our year and see what new ideas we come up with.  More info will be coming
on these but Tuesday and THursday nights seem to be the nights.  Again
email any thoughts if you can’t make the meeting!!

Friday July 29th is band picture
day. Karen Jennings will be sending home order forms soon.  That night
come out and watch out 2011 Marching Eagles perform their new show!!

Can’t wait to see the kids on the
field again!

As this is my son’s senior year I
face it all with a bit of a tear in my eye but with huge pride in my heart for
all the BLUE PRIDE has accomplished in a short amount of time!!

Come out and get involved, be a part
of a grand tradition!!
